RSF Wicklow Highlight odour problem from Refuse derived fuel in Wicklow Town.

The Ruairi O'Bradaigh/Maolmhuire O'Raghallaigh cumann of Republican Sinn Fein in Wicklow wish to remind residents of Wicklow Town that we first highlighted the odour issues surrounding the quays on July 1st last. The story was carried in last months Saoirse newspaper as well as various sites and blogs online.
The smell of "refuse derived fuel" on the quay is becoming a serious problem, an issue not addressed by any town councillor since mid January of this year when the council concluded the "initial odour problems have been remedied".
So it was quite ironic when residents of the town rang us today about a press release eerily similar to our own regarding the issue, featuring in today's Wicklow People. It was released by a Wicklow Town councillor. Obviously Earning over €600 a week this councillor can well afford €2 for Saoirse. Seemingly he is now taking stories from the paper and releasing them as his own. This is a sad indictment of the calibre of our local representatives. However we expect no less from such people.
